The Lagree Method

It's a patented exercise method, a complete line of machines, and hundreds of clubs worldwide.

The Lagree Method was invented by legendary trainer, Sebastien Lagree , in the early 2000s. While working with clients in Los Angeles, Sebastien realized that a different training method was needed. Many of his clients were already practicing Pilates but wanted more noticeable physical changes. So, using his extensive bodybuilding experience, along with extensive research and science, he created the Lagree Method to achieve immediate and lasting results without the negative side effects that high-impact exercises often cause.

When I was first introduced to Pilates in 1998, I saw that there was no progressive overload or protocol for gaining muscle or losing fat. But the body won't change if it's not stimulated.

Sebastien wanted a machine that could give a full body workout in a short time without having to change too many parts. [He created] a machine and program that protects the body from injury and also ensures low impact and high intensity.

Lagree's class

The 50-minute class starts with about five minutes of core exercises, followed by eight minutes or so of leg and glutes on each side. The obliques and upper body are also worked. Lunges, squats, push-ups, and standing planks are done, and the time between exercises is short to keep your heart rate up. The goal is to move the platform (the resistance can be adjusted to make the exercises harder or easier) and the movements are subtle. Your muscles will shake and your core will be very activated. If you're new to this type of exercise, you'll get used to your core; trust me, you'll still notice it the next day.
